TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu’s plans to shift senior party leaders from their native constituencies to new places seems to be failing.
Naidu felt the need to shift the constituencies of senior TDP leaders to accommodate those joining the party from YCP and also the Jana Sena leaders.
But, the senior party leaders are being adamant and not agreeing to stir out of their native constituencies.
Ganta Srinivasa Rao was asked to move from Vizag to Cheepurupalli in Vizianagaram district but he did not accede to the proposal. Initially, Ganta asked for sometime to think but finally, he said it was not possible.
Even Kala Venkatrao failed to budge when he was asked to shift to Vizag from his native Nellimarla, which was allocated to Jana Sena as part of seat sharing exercise.
Naidu had already declared Lokam Madhavi as the candidate from this constituency but Kala Venkatrao, it is learnt, is still demanding that he wants ticket from the same constituency.
Naidu is planning to allocate Mailavaram constituency to Vasanta Krishna Prasad, who switched loyalties from the YCP, but party senior leader Devineni Umamaheswara Rao is firm in contesting from the same constituency. Naidu is asking Devineni to contest from Penamaluru.
At the same time, former MLA Bode Prasad had already told Naidu that he would not accept anybody else contesting from Penamaluru.
In Dhone, the TDP chief decided to replace the incumbent Dharmavaram Subbareddy with Kotla Suryaprakash Reddy and even declared the name but Subbareddy is sulking.
Subbareddy even took out a huge rally in Dhone to show his strength.
Gorantla Bucchaiah Chowdary is one other senior TDP leader who is firm in contesting from his native Rajahmundry Rural constituency.
It has to be seen how would Naidu pacify all the senior party leaders to heed to his request.
