Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan has been maintaining strategic suspense on the constituency that he will be contesting in the coming election. But he has put an end to the wait today in a meeting with Janasena leaders.
Addressing the Janasena cadres today, Pawan Kalyan confirmed that he will be contesting from the Pithapuram constituency in the coming elections.
“Janasena and Pawan Kalyan will contest from Pithapuram constituency,” Pawan Kalyan said in the meeting and this was welcomed by loud cheers and claps by JSP cadres.
A couple of days back, Bhimavaram ex-MLA Ramanjaneyulu who joined Janasena said Pawan Kalyan will contest from Bhimavaram again and even Pawan himself implied that he wishes to sweep away Grandhi Srinivas from here. But all of a sudden today, Pawan confirmed his candidacy from Pithapuram.
In the 2019 election, YCP’s Pendem Dorababu polled 83,000 votes here and won the election. But interestingly Telugu Desam and JSP candidates cumulatively polled 96,000 votes in Pithapuram. If the vote transfer is effective and loss-less then this could be a sure-shot seat for Pawan.
Notably, YCP has announced Vanga Geetha as the party candidate here. So essentially speaking, Pawan will take on Vanga Geetha from Pithapuram.
