The Supreme Court’s directive to the SBI to submit details of the electoral bonds transactions for the last 5 years has revealed facts and figures about the donations of various corporates to the political parties. While the ruling BJP stands top on the list encashing electoral bonds to the tune of Rs 6060.5 crore, next stands the regional party All India Trinamool Congress receiving donations of Rs 1,609 crore.
Next came the Congress encashing donations of Rs Rs 1,421.90 crore and in the fourth place, regional party Bharat Rashtra Samiti received donations to the tune of Rs 1,214.70 crore.
The BRS received the huge sum from Megha Engineering and Infrastructure Limited, which was awarded the works of the multi-crore Kaleshwaram project.
This also reveals the reason behind BRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao taking personal interest in designing and also supervising the execution of the Kaleshwaram project.
Despite investing huge sum of money and effort by the BRS chief, the Kaleshwaram project proved to be a disaster with the Medigadda barrage developing cracks and showing signs of collapsing in the near future. Similar problem was also reported from Annaram barrage.
This indicates the huge amount of corruption both in the designing and execution of the multi-crore Kaleshwaram project.
It is for the same reason the Telangana CM A. Revanth Reddy has been raising a hue and cry over the flaws in the execution of the project.
The Congress has been accusing the BRS government of being immersed in neck-deep corruption and faulting it for the poor standard of construction and lack of accountability of the officers concerned, in connection with the project for obvious reasons.
