Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan always had his sight on empowering the Kapu community and called for unity amongst the large-populous community which plays a decisive role in electing a government in Andhra Pradesh.
In tune with Pawan’s political statements, Janasena has worked on the social engineering aspect of the alliance in such a way that the Kapu community is given the lion’s share of the general MLA seats.
Of the 15 general seats that JSP has announced, 8 seats were given to Kapu community individuals which means that they have secured more than 50% of the total seats in JSP(general category).
If this social engineering works the trick for JSP and the Kapu vote bank polarization picks the TDP+ alliance over YSRCP, then the whole game could change clearly in favor of the alliance.
While the majority of the quota has been allocated to the Kapu voters, other allocations include 2 SC, 1 ST, 1 Kamma, 1 Brahmana Kapu, and 1 Gavara. There is certain doubt about the classification of Yalamanchili Tainala Ravi Kumar so his caste equation is considered neutral for the time being.
