The Vizag parliamentary constituency is one of the crucial electoral segments in Andhra Pradesh, particularly after the YSR Congress government announced the plan to have Vizag as the executive capital of the state. With the general election fast approaching, Vizag’s electoral trends are back in the news.
Coming to the alliance’s candidate from Vizag, BJP’s GVL Narasimha Rao, and TDP’s GITAM Bharath fought really hard to get their hands on the ticket. But in the end, Bharath who always looked likely to get the nod has managed to safely secure the Vizag MP ticket. TDP has announced Bharath as the party candidate from the Vizag MP segment.
In response to this, GVL Narasimha Rao released a video today, in which he seemed slightly disappointed about not getting the ticket. ‘I did many development and philanthropic works in Vizag for the last three years but didn’t get the ticket. My followers are disappointed about me not getting the ticket after all the good work I did. I will meet them soon and discuss the future course of action. I will see to it that the BJP flag flies high in Vizag in the future.’
GVL was only focused on projecting his work and keeping the BJP flag high in Vizag, but not once did he announce support for Bharath.
Political analysts are commenting that the fundamental need of an alliance is for parties to mutually support their candidates setting aside their personal gains. GVL releasing a video about flying the BJP flag in Vizag and ignoring encouraging the alliance candidate, Bharath is strange and detrimental of the alliance’s purpose.
