Vijayamma’s Presence, More Formal Than Heartful?

Published by

Right before YS Sharmila announced that she is launching her political outfit in Telangana, YS Vijayamma quit the YSR Congress honorary president post. She was teary-eyed while making this announcement before she went to Telangana to support YS Sharmila on her journey in Telangana politics. But this journey ended prematurely after Sharmila decided not to contest the Telangana election and merged YSRTP with Congress.

Cut to today, as YS Jagan embarked on the Memantha Siddham program, Vijayamma was spotted alongside him. YSR Congress-inclined social media handles are sending out messages that Vijayamma has rejoined Jagan’s side and her presence at the Memantha Siddham pre-inaugural meeting makes it clear.

Vijayamma was not seen holding any position in YSR Congress after quitting her post and seldom did she meet Jagan in public forums. But today, she got back with Jagan as he launched his mass outreach program.

While YS Vijayamma’s presence at Jagan’s campaign event is found heartful by YSRCP supporters, the TDP cadre and Sharmila’s supporters are calling it formal as she is not seen smiling anywhere. They further imply that it is YS Jagan’s move to cut down the negativity against him for distancing himself from Vijayamma and Sharmila.

Notably, even Sharmila is active in Andhra Pradesh politics after taking charge as the chief of AP Congress. After Sharmila came to Andhra Pradesh, Vijayamma wasn’t seen alongside her, at least publicly. So does Vijayamma’s presence at Jagan’s Siddham program mean that she has left Sharmila and decided to take Jagan’s side in the AP election?
