Congress Replaces Surpiya Amid Controversial Remarks On Kangana

Supriya Shrinate, the Congress spokesperson posted an offensive comment against actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut and later deleted it. Now she was pulled back from the Lok Sabha candidates list and also from its social media department head. Surpiya contested in Maharajganj and lost in 2019 and Congress fielded Virendra Chaudhary from Maharajganj this time.

It is already known that Kangana Ranaut was given a BJP ticket to contest from Mandi in Himachal Pradesh. Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate earlier made a derogatory post with a photo of Kangana Ranaut. She later deleted the pot and gave a clarification blaming a parody account being run with her as making the ‘objectionable post’ and that she has also reported this parody account to Twitter.

Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut shared the screenshot of a conversation in which condemned the derogatory remarks of Supriya Shrinate. Kangana said, ‘Every woman deserves dignity, no matter what profession she is in…The most I am hurt by is the ‘Mandi’ thing, which is known as Chota Kashi and has been the land of several Rishis’.

Kangana replied to Surpiya in her tweet, ‘Dear Supriya ji, in the last 20 years of my career as an artist, I have played all kinds of women. From a naive girl in Queen to a seductive spy in Dhaakad, from a goddess in Manikarnika to a demon in Chandramukhi, from a prostitute in Rajjo to a revolutionary leader in Thalaivii’.

While Kangana condemned the comments of Supriya Shrinate, the internet brought up Kagana’s old comments on actor-turned-politician Urmila Matondkar. Kangana faced backlash for calling Urmila Matondkar a ‘soft p*rnstar’.
