Following the footsteps of TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, who is known to be his strong follower, has decided to go for landpooling for Musi River Front Development Project, under the private-public partnership. This apart, landpooling near Musi river had been a success and hence, the Congress government has decided to replicate the same for the Musi Riverfront development project.
Naidu also implemented landpooling for the development of the capital city, Amaravati, in Andhra Pradesh. The Capital Development Region Authority (CRDA) was established to oversee the implementation of the project. The TDP government, led by Naidu, acquired more than 30,000 acres for constructing the capital city.
The Revanth Reddy-led government has decided to develop Musi riverfront as a tourism spot and public transport route. For this, land would be required in large chunks.
To realise the project, a drone survey has been taken up to identify government lands. Then private lands would be acquired through landpooling and the owners of those lands would be compensated either by giving a portion of the developed land in the project or near the project. Land pooling has turned into a boon for several development projects in various cities across the country.
