After having failed to comply with the regulations of the Enforcement Directorate on multiple occasions with regard to the Delhi liquor policy case, K Kavitha was arrested and sent on remand by the investigating authorities and Delhi Court.
The BRS politician who was earlier arrested on March 15th for her alleged involvement in the Delhi liquor case is presently serving the remand sentence in jail.
In order to make her stay in jail fairly comfortable, Kavitha asked for a few special amenities and the court selectively approved a few of them. Kavitha was granted permission to have 10 books of her choice, a laceless sports shoe, and a bead garland(Japamala) in jail. The court permitted these requests and Kavitha will be getting her hands on them soon.
Kavitha had filed multiple bail petitions at the Delhi Court, saying the ED intentionally nabbed her in the case with vested interests. But the court didn’t approve the interim bail and regular bail petitions filed by Kavitha and pushed the next hearing on the matter to April 4th. For now, Kavitha will have to make do with the amenities that were granted to her.
