The opposition leader of Telangana, KCR recently commented about the alarming suicide rate of farmers in the state due to lack of irrigation water supply. He demanded a compensation of Rs 25,000 per acre to farmers in order to financially help the farming community in this draught-like situation.
When this was brought up in front of CM Revanth Reddy, he made an interesting remark as he said ‘Maybe KCR should walk the talk and give 100 crore rupees from his electoral bond funding that BRS got from other companies and individuals. Then we will happily distribute the compensation that he demanded.’ Revanth cleverly aimed the gun at KCR and used the recent electoral bond allegations against BRS.
But KCR being KCR reacted in his own manner when Revanth’s retort was brought up in front of him in a media interaction today.
‘It is funny to see the CM ask for Rs 100 crore from the opposition party. If he is incapable, he must step down as the CM and hand it over. Then, I will see how the farmers can be compensated and work accordingly as the CM’
In the end, the heated discussion about farmer compensation ended in CM Revanth asking Rs 100 crore from BRS’s electoral fund, and KCR asking for the CM post in return.
