In a shocking and sensational allegation against CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, TDP senior leader and ex-MP Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar wrote a letter to the Election Commission. In the letter, Kanakamedala accused AP police of tapping TDP leader Nara Lokesh’s phone and some other senior TDP leaders’ mobiles. Kanakamedala made a direct accusation against AP DGP Rajendranath Reddy, Intelligence chief PSR Anjaneyulu for allegedly tapping the phones of TDP leaders at the behest of CM YS Jagan.
Along with the strongly-written letter, Kanakamedala attached the screenshot of an alert received on Nara Lokesh’s iPhone. He alleged that the alert indicated the phone tapping using Pegasus software by unknown agencies. He further alleged that similar alerts were received on Lokesh’s phone in March 2024 as well.
Kanakamedala alleged that the AP police boss and some other police officials have become “puppets” in the ruling party YSRCP’s hands and resorting to “unethical” and “unlawful” practices to affect TDP’s winning prospects in the upcoming General Elections. It is said that the opposition TDP and the NDA allies are targeted by the AP government.
Following the sensational phone tapping issue in Telangana where several BRS leaders are accused of, TDP’s Kanakamedala’s allegations became significant. Kanakamedala urged the poll body to take strict action against such officers and also asked the Election Commission of India to depute neutral and honest officials at such top positions during the elections.
