After the solitary public meeting chaired by PM Modi, the BJP’s top leadership has been rather complacent with their election campaign in Andhra Pradesh. The lack of star campaigners locally and the disinclination of central leadership to lead the campaign here has been dampening the spirits of local leaders.
While Telugu Desam and Janasena are electrifying their campaigns through Chandrababu, Pawan Kalyan, and Nandamuri Balakrishna, BJP troopers are left with no star power. As a result, the local BJP candidates are entirely depending on Naidu and Pawan to come and campaign for them.
But finally, for a change, the central BJP leadership has decided to take the AP election campaign seriously. With four weeks to go for polls, Amit Shah, UP CM Yogi, and BJP National President JP Nadda are queuing up to Andhra Pradesh. With Purandeshwari filing her nomination from Rajahmundry on 19, Yogi is likely to visit AP and later address a public meeting.
Nadda and Shah are also lining up their visits to Andhra Pradesh with individual meetings being planned in the next few days.
Thanks to the interest shown by central BJP, the local leadership has finally found some inspiration with their top guns on their way to AP. Not just the visits, the top leadership of BJP must also take a stance against CM Jagan to shrug off their secret truce with YSR Congress narrative.
