The TDP and YCP bosses have been shedding out their blood, sweat and tears to emerge victorious in the upcoming elections. YCP president and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is toiling to retain power for a second term, TDP boss N. Chandrababu Naidu is trying to wrest power from the YCP. The duo and their cadre have been campaigning at a feverish pitch in the state, braving the sweltering heat. The electorate is anticipating a tough fight between the rival parties.
However, none of the pre-poll surveys indicated that it would be a neck-to-neck fight. Instead, many of them had unanimously predicted that the TDP coalition would be the ultimate winner. Buoyed by the survey reports, Naidu is going full throttle on the ground and slamming the CM for his ‘destructive’ and ‘anti-people’ policies. He is even telling the public that Jagan is doubting rout and is in the grip of fear.
Naidu is striving to turn the anti-Jagan mood among the public to his advantage. Even political analysts predict a favourable tilt towards the TDP coalition and in such a situation, all the three parties should try to unitedly convert the support into votes.
There is buzz that Naidu has cast special focus on a few constituencies where the party had never opened its account. The TDP supremo is of the opinion that victory is certain for the coalition if the electorate in these constituencies can be wooed and made to vote for the party.
Poothalapattu, Rampachodavaram, Rajam, Srisailam, Nellore Rural, Pulivendula are a few constituencies where the TDP had never witnessed victory. Vijayawada West, Kodumur, Yerragondapalem also fall into the same category and there is talk that Naidu is of the opinion that if the party can try to gain stronghold in these places, victory is certain in the upcoming elections.
At the same time, Naidu is also designing political strategies to outwit the YCP, sources in the TDP said.
