Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy, the last chief minister of united Andhra Pradesh, hogged the headlines with his controversial remarks against YCP senior leader and minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy.
Ahead of the elections, Nallari and Peddireddy locked horns over stooping to low levels for the sake of political positions. The duo, who were in the Congress as colleagues, are now in different parties. Nallari is contesting as BJP MP candidate from Rajampet while Peddireddy’s son Mithun Reddy is the sitting MP and has been fielded by the YCP again from the same constituency for the 2024 general elections.
After bifurcation, many people forgot Kiran Kumar Reddy, even he turned politically inactive for several years, later Reddy joined in BJP, now contesting as MP from Rajampet. Kiran Kumar Reddy’s latest comments on Peddi Reddy brings back him into limelight. From past one day his comments going viral and Ex CM is now hot topic in seema.
Nallari and Mithun Reddy are rivals in Rajampet. Mithun’s father Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy during campaigning in the constituency made unsavoury remarks against Nallari and stated that the latter became the CM and sent YCP boss YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to the jail falling at the feet of Sonia Gandhi.
Irked over these comments, Nallari countered senior Peddireddy and said that he had never mortgaged his self-respect for the sake of political positions.
“It is you who had fallen at my feet at the guesthouse seeking the DCC chief post in the past,” Nallari said, targeting senior Peddireddy. Further, he said he was ready to take oath anywhere to prove his integrity regarding Peddireddy falling at his feet.
This war of words reminds one of the past when Nallari and Peddireddy families used to fight against each other in Chittoor district, reminded political observers.
Washing dirty linen in public is not worthy of both the senior leaders. Instead, they should maintain dignity and speak about development works required in the constituency which would be more useful in wooing the electorate, felt political analysts.
Public meetings are arranged to address people’s grievances and give assurance to the electorate. Of late, this trend has completely faded out and personal abuses and accusations have come to fore which is not a good precedent, they opined.
