Telugu Desam Party’s Guntur MP candidate Pemmasani Chandra Sekhar is the talk of the town after having declared assets worth over Rs 5700 crore. The star MP candidate has now made an interesting revelation dating back to the 2019 Andhra Pradesh election.
Pemmasani revealed that he was passively into politics right from 2019 and he even received many lucrative offers. He then briefed on the offer he got from YSR Congress back in 2019.
‘Not many people know this but YSR Congress came with a triple offer to me in 2019 itself. They offered me the Guntur MP ticket and the Narsaraopeta MP ticket. And if I didn’t want the electoral ticket, they offered me Rajya Sabha seat as well. They asked me to pick one of the three options in order to join their party’ Pemmasani said about YCP’s offer.
The Guntur-based politician said he turned down these offers from the YCP chief as he felt Jagan’s ideology doesn’t align with his own political views. “I always felt Chandrababu garu is more stable and sane as a politician so I wanted to explore my options in TDP and that’s how it happened.”
YSR Congress is known for aiming to field financially super sound individuals as MP candidates and a similar attempt was made in 2019 by the offering made to Pemmasani. But the financially sound candidate had his heart elsewhere and he eventually took the TDP oath.
