There is an old saying ‘Enemy’s Friend is also Enemy’. Looks like it won’t apply in Jagan’s case. The BJP had joined hands with the TDP and Jana Sena, to dethrone the ruling YCP in Andhra Pradesh. However, the YCP is still remaining a loyalist of the BJP and the party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had reportedly given clarity about it.
Usually, Jagan never spares his enemies but with the BJP, he follows a completely different strategy and agrees to be subservient to the BJP bigwigs.
During a recent meeting with the Vizag Steel Plant workers, Jagan Mohan Reddy reportedly said that he will demand NDA about vizag Steel Plant, by supporting it, if NDA does not get complete majority in the Centre. These remarks took the VSP workers and even the general public by surprise. Anyway there is no official video of Jagan from that meeting.
While the AP BJP is fuming at the YCP boss and even castigating him for neglecting development of Andhra Pradesh, Jagan is firm that he would continue his support to the NDA.
In all likelihood, the NDA would come to power at the Centre. It is learnt that Jagan is of the opinion not to cause any rupture to the YCP’s relationship with the BJP at the Centre, unnecessarily.
If he goes against the BJP, all the cases relating to disproportionate assets against him would be probed immediately and he would be sent to the jail. Jagan also knows this fact and for the same reason, he does not the BJP on the wrong side.
Jagan’s campaign strategy also reveals the same intention as he keeps lashing out at the TDP and Jana Sena but remains silent about the BJP and its policies.
Before the 2019 elections, Jagan spoke a lot about special status and even said that he would make the Centre yield to the demand. However, after coming to power, he conveniently shelved the demand and remained stoic for his vested interests.
