Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy mocked at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Ab ke paar.. 400 ke paar” and said it might be good to hear it as a slogan but the maximum BJP could win would be something below 300. “The remaining he can’t win in Hindustan, he has to go to Pakistan for that,” the CM said.
Revanth Reddy said that even if Modi and BJP allies win all the MP seats from Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, UP and Bihar, the party will not reach the 300 mark. However, the BJP will not make a clean sweep because there is a lot of opposition against the party from these states, he said.
He said that the BJP can win anything between 140-240 seats in the upcoming general elections.
Revanth Reddy was speaking at TV show ‘Aap Ki Adalat’ hosted by senior journalist Rajat Kumar.
He tried to explain the public that the Congress views both north and south India equally. “AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge is from Karnataka and general secretary K.C. Venugopal is from Andhra Pradesh,” he pointed out and said that Modi’s BJP never cares for the southern states. He also predicted that in the coming elecitons, the PM could be a native of the southern states.
The Telugu states together contribute to 42 MPs but there is only one Cabinet berth given to both the states. Kishan Reddy is the only Cabinet minister in Modi’s government from Telugu states, he pointed out.
From Gujarat, there are 28 MP seats and 7 seven Cabinet minister and from UP, there are 62 MP seats and 12 Cabinet ministers. All the plum posts like defence minister, President, Vice President, Speaker are occupied by natives of northern states. What did the southern states get? “We literally are left with nothing. Is south India not part of India? Is Modi not the PM of South India? You have chased away Venkaiah Naidu from the party,” the Telangana CM said.
When asked about the heavy turnout at Modi’s public meetings, Revanth, in a lighter vein, said people go to watch comedy movies just to have fun. This reply evoked laughter from the youth sitting in the audience gallery at the Rajat Sharma show.
Of the total population in the country, 62 per cent are youngsters and all of them are anti-Modi because he failed to fulfil his promise of providing 2 crore jobs every year. From 2014 to 2022, he should provide 20 crore jobs but he provided only 7,21,608 jobs till date, Revanth explained.
Further, he also raised Modi’s promise depositing Rs 15 lakh black money recovered from banks in foreign countries and doubling the income of the farmers which did not become a reality.
Since 1951 to 2014, there had been 14 Prime Ministers for the country and together, they borrowed Rs 55 lakh crore but from 2014-2023, Modi-led NDA government took loans of Rs 113 lakh crore. Where did all the money go, he asked.
