YS Sharmila, the Andhra Pradesh Congress president, has launched a scathing attack on her brother, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. She has made a series of serious comments regarding the alleged plan by Jagan to camp in London.
In response to reports suggesting that Jagan intends to depart for London after the elections and stay there from May 15 to 30, YS Sharmila has used this to demoralize the YSR Congress Party (YCP) cadres.
Sharmila stated that Jagan Mohan Reddy is preparing to leave the country immediately after the election. ‘Jagan is in the process of obtaining the necessary passports to depart India after the election. He fears potential arrest following an electoral defeat, which seems inevitable. Thus, he is making arrangements to exit the country post-polls,’ Sharmila remarked.
Had these remarks originated from a TDP or JSP leader, YCP might have dismissed them as political rivalry. However, these comments come from Sharmila, Jagan’s own sister, who is intimately familiar with him. Such grave comments from Sharmila suggest a deep understanding of Jagan’s intentions. Regardless of the motive behind them, the prospect of Jagan leaving Andhra Pradesh immediately after the elections has sparked negative public perception and could potentially harm the party during this critical period leading up to polling on May 13.”
