There’s a conflict going on between Jagan Mohan Reddy’s government and the Elections Commission in Andhra Pradesh.
After the EC ordered the delay of DBT transactions to the post-election period, the YCP government approached the High Court and the court in turn gave 1 day buffer period, asking to complete the transactions by today.
In the midst of this high drama, the EC has now penned a feisty letter to YCP government and asked where did the government get so much money all of a sudden.
The EC questioned the monetary roots for the YSRC government to pool the funds for Vidya Deevena, farmer input subsidy, and Asara pension programs. It was also mentioned in the letter to explain what would happen if the DBT schemes aren’t implemented this very day.
The EC questioned the government why these monetary schemes weren’t cleared till now despite Jagan pressing the button in January. The need for the implementation of these programs 3 days before the polls and the pooling up of such large funds are being questioned by the EC.
The Jagan government must respond to the letter by 3 PM today with a comprehensive reply if they’re to progress along with DBT schemes.
