Naidu Successfully Utilized ‘Land Titling Act’?

Published by

In the last leg of the campaigning, the Land Titling Act has turned into a major weapon in the hands of the opposition parties, primarily the TDP, in Andhra Pradesh.

TDP boss N. Chandrababu Naidu has been time and again mentioning about it in all the roadshows, rallies and public meetings, warning the public that their land would be grabbed by the YCP government if voted to power.

Naidu is telling the people that all their lands would go into Jagan’s hands if the Act comes into enforcement.

The Land Titling Act has shadowed all other promises, assurances and even the party manifestos so much so that even the people are discussing about it among themselves. Naidu is alleging that Jagan is gearing up to grab people’s land.

Naidu’s interviews and even the TDP advertisements have been mentioning of the same. The TDP boss’ logic and reasoning is appealing to the public and his argument is going into the public without any questions.

It is feared that the intensive campaign on Land Titling Act is having an adverse affect on the YCP’s poll prospects. Except for YCP president and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, there is no other leader from the YCP camp countering Naidu on Land Titling Act.

Responding to Naidu’s allegations, Jagan has been iterating that the Act is aimed at protecting people’s land and resolving land disputes. Jagan is repeating that during registration, the owners need to submit only the copies but not originals.

However, the public seems to be convinced with Naidu’s campaign regarding the Act and they see some malicious intent behind the Jagan’s scheme.

It has to be seen what impact the Act would have on the voting pattern in the elections scheduled on May 13.
