In his last ever election meeting, for the canvassing in the 2024 general elections, incumbent Chief Minister YS Jagan dropped his mic at Pithapuram, a constituency that gained popularity after Janasena Presiden Pawan Kalyan announced his candidature from there. And now, in his last ever speech, Jagan gave another big promise to the voters there.
On behalf of YSR Congress, Vanga Geetha, a former Rajyasabha MP of the Telugu Desam Party and a former MLA from Prajarajyam Party, is contesting in Pithapuram, against Pawan Kalyan. Speaking at the venue, YS Jagan said, “Vanga Geetha is like my sister and mother, and if she wins from Pithapuram, I will make her deputy CM in my upcoming government”, giving another freebie offer to the Pithapuram public. Though many wonder what leverage a deputy CM under YS Jagan would get, surely that’s an offer that sounds loud on the paper.
At the same time, Vanga Geetha played the sentimental card at Pithapuram in her final speech today as she stressed on her ‘localness’ rather than other stuff. “I’m more local than anyone else and today let’s not Pithapuram people lose out that local identity” she said.
Well, almost three former ministers, three MLA-range politicans are monitoring Pithapuram for YCP, with the only target of defeating Pawan Kalyan here. Let’s see what happens.
