For the whole day on May 13th, one constituency that is trending throughout the Telugu states is “Pithapuram”. Other high-profile constituencies like Hindupur, Mangalagiri, Kuppam, Pulivendula and others didn’t get as much attention as this place where Jana Sena’s Pawan Kalyan is contesting. That’s the reason everyone is now asking, “Dear Pithapuram! How is the josh?”
While the Election Commission officially declared that Andhra Pradesh registered 76% polling of votes by 8 pm while the number might go to 80% or more, everyone is keen to find out what things are like in Pithapuram.
In fact, according to a report from a few Telugu news outlets, polling in Pithapuram continued till late night as many voters reached booths before 6 pm, indicating that Pawan has the advantage there.
Some booth-level reports are indicating that Pawan Kalyan will be winning the seat with more than 30,000 votes margin easily.
While many political analysts who do ‘exit polls’ have failed to give their prediction this time, stating that voting patterns are pretty clumsy, ground-level talk is that most of the voters took ‘glass’ very seriously.
Previously some analysts opined that Pithapuram is a tough nut to crack, but Pawan’s repeated campaigns in the place along with his family members and other cine glamour canvassing for him, he might give a tough fight.
But now, the same analysts are surprised to know that the main opposition contestant, YCP’s Vanga Geetha lacks people’s support and their anger toward her might turn into a huge blessing for Pawan.
The real josh will be out on June 4th when the result gets declared.
