With ‘National Crush’ Rashmika Mandanna publicly endorsing the Atal Setu bridge, the newly constructed Mumbai Trans Harbour Link that reduces the journey of 2.5 hours from Dadar to Navi Mumbai, to just 20 minutes, it looks like the ‘Indian National Congress’ got hurt big time. Throwing some facts out there, the Kerala Congress has now challenged to do another video about the same bridge.
Pointing out that the newly constructed bridge is not being used by many and saying that the Bandra-Worli sea link they have built during the Congress regime is making more ‘toll’ money, Kerala Congress has shared some numbers too.
Constructed at an enormous cost of ₹17,840 crore, Atal Setu bridge imposes a hefty toll rate of ₹250 per car for a single trip. As per Congress, despite its impressive design and strategic importance, the bridge has failed to attract significant traffic, collecting only ₹22.57 crore in tolls over its first 102 days. This translates to a monthly revenue of approximately ₹6.6 crore, far below the projected ₹30 crore. In stark contrast, the Bandra-Worli Sea Link, inaugurated in 2009, built at a cost of ₹1,634 crore, charges a much more affordable toll of ₹85 per car. The Sea Link is generating ₹9.95 crore in revenue in March 2022 alone.
Giving these facts, the Congress party asked the star heroine via Twitter, “Dear Rashmika Mandanna Ji, Can you do a pro-bono video on why Mumbaikars are not using the bridge? Is it due to high toll rates?”
Will our starlet respond to this challenge? Or will she leave the whole thing just like that even though Congress is saying that Rashmika’s video is a BJP-sponsored, Enforcement Directorate-sponsored ad? Let’s see.
