The public mandate of the people of Andhra Pradesh has been locked and loaded in the EVMs and the only thing pending now is the counting of the votes which is scheduled for the 4th of June.
As the counting date fast approaches, here is a look at the top 4 candidates from YSR Congress who are commanding good interest. These candidates are contesting 4 hotshot seats in AP.
First is KRJ Bharath who is contesting against Chandrababu in Kuppam. Though realistically speaking, defeating Chandrababu in Kuppam is next to impossible, Jagan deployed Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy to run YCP’s campaign which shows how determined Jagan is to claim this seat from Naidu. While a win for Bharath is near impossible, giving a tough fight would also be a moral win for him.
Murugudu Lavanya has been slotted against Nara Lokesh in Mangalagiri and this is another exciting battle. Lokesh has been with Mangalagiri for the last 5 years and extensively campaigned here over the last few months. He is confident of a 50,000+ votes win, despite Jagan sending Alla Ramakrishna Reddy to help Lavanya locally.
Vanga Geetha of Pithapuram looked to be a fierce contestant and she is sizing up against Pawan Kalyan. Peddireddy Midhun Reddy was deployed with the job overseeing YCP activities here. Geetha extensively campaigned in Pithapuram. Both YCP and JSP are confident of a win here, but Pawan is more in need of it after the defeat from Gajuwaka and Bhimavaram in 2019.
Lastly, YCP’s Koduri Deepika is contesting from Hindupur against Nandamuri Balakrishna. She has been selected by Jagan with the local caste equations in mind. But the deal is said to have been sealed in favor of Balakrishna who has sound connections locally.
Can any of these YCP top 4 contestants deliver an upset to the TDP+ members? We will know on June 4.
