YCP president and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is exuding confidence of sweeping the polls again in the 2024 Assembly elections.
The people’s verdict is locked in the EVMs and will be out only on June 4. Suddenly, there is talk about what would be Jagan’s reaction if the unprecedented happens.
There will be no problem if everything goes as desired but if the unexpected comes, how would Jagan deal with the situation.
In case, the YCP is not able to retain power, how will Jagan react to it.
The Assembly will be the same but he and his party members will find themselves sitting in the Opposition benches and their word will not have any power and value.
In such a case, will Jagan sit in the Assembly?
For the last five years, he and his party men enjoyed absolute power after securing a thumping 151 seats, without any opposition.
But, once he and his party leaders begin to sit in the Opposition benches, he will have to listen to the criticism by the ruling party frequently.
It is being predicted that Jagan would deal with the situation in two possible ways. Either he will remain silent or not attend the Assembly.
It is being predicted that he will either ask party senior leaders Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy or Buggana Rajendranath Reddy to head the YCP legislature party.
Political observers also reminded that in 2017, when Jagan was the Opposition leader, he stayed away from the Assembly by taking up the Sankalpa Yatra.
It has to be seen how would Jagan cover up his absence from the Assembly this time, if the YCP is defeated.
