The Election fever has gripped the country. After serving two terms as Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is facing an anti-incumbency.
With five phases of elections concluded, many political analysts, psephologists and intellectual investors are making their predictions and analysing the trends so far.
National media and international media and Foreign Portfolio Investors are all closely observing the mood of India.
At India Today Conclave, prominent fund manager and investor Ruchir Sharma (former Investor at Morgan Stanley) made interesting remarks. He said across the nation, BJP’s allies are in serious trouble and facing headwinds, except in Andhra Pradesh. He stated that Chandra Babu Naidu is in ascendant.
He said BJP’s allies in Bihar, Karnataka, Maharashtra are doing poorly. He said he had met people at Aurangabad, Nashik, Sholapur and got the general sense that the seat split is 50-50 between ruling and opposition parties. However, it is BJP’s two major allies who are expected to take severe beating in their numbers.
Ruchir Sharma’s interesting comments for Andhra Pradesh clearly indicates that TDP is all set to make a stunning comeback. This means that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSRCP is going to face a defeat.
Already noted political analyst Prasant Kishor predicted a huge defeat for YSRCP in AP. Several other prominent surveys are indicating YCP’s defeat in AP.
If BJP is short of numbers on its own and is dependent on its allies in its next government, it is going to be a big advantage for TDP as it could put pressure on BJP to get more development programmes and activities for the state of Andhra Pradesh. As June 4th is inching closer, let’s wait and see what is in store.
