Telangana Minister Seetakka is likely to assume charge as the Telangana PCC chief. According to sources, the announcement about Seetakka’s elevation would be made after the results of the Lok Sabha are out.
It is learnt that the Congress high command had sent signals of revamping the PCC after the LS results. In the wake of such an announcement, speculation over who could be the next PCC president also gained momentum.
In Telangana, all senior leaders vie for the top PCC post. One can understand how the seniors would react if they are denied the post as it was seen when Revanth Reddy was made the PCC chief. However, Revanth Reddy rose above all the hurdles and strived to make the Congress clinch power in the Assembly elections.
It is learnt that now, party senior leaders Jagga Reddy, Mahesh Kumar, Madhu Yashki have pinned hopes on the post. If one of them is chosen for the top post, there will be dissent from others.
To avoid the troublesome situation, it is learnt that the Congress high command is planning to pick Seetakka. It is of the opinion that there would be no opposition from any of the party leader if Seetakka is given the charge. In addition, it will also give a positive image to the party for elevating the status of an ST leader. There will be positive response from women too.
Now, it has to be seen if Seetakka would agree to assume charge as the PCC chief.
