Postal Ballots Push YCP Into Overdrive Mode?

In just a couple of days, Andhra Pradesh politics will take a new turn as the exit polls will be out after 5 PM on June 1st. For now, there are many parallel discussions about the possible electoral trends, including the hiatus surrounding postal ballots.

All hell broke loose in the YSR Congress camp after AP Election Officer Mukesh Kumar Meena announced that postal ballots can’t be rejected even if there is no officiated seal from the Returning Officer.

In a new development, YCP has approached the High Court on CEO Meena’s memo not to reject the vote even if there is no RO seal on the postal ballot. The court will hear the lunch motion today.

This comes after Perni Nani held a fiery press meet a couple of days back, where he fumed at the CEO for bringing in new rules over the postal ballots. He claimed that the postal ballots must be counted only if there is an RO stamp on them.

YCP Rajyasabha MP and noted Tollywood producer, Niranjan Reddy even wrote a letter to the Central EC to reconsider this memo passed by the AP CEO.

It is very clear that the YCP ecosystem is rattled by the new postal ballots memo and the party leaders are now in overdrive mode over this matter. The party is evidently taken aback by the fact that a record-breaking 5.4 lakh postal ballots were cast this election, which is an unprecedented number.
