HC Shuts Down YCP Govt’s Attempt Against ABV

Published by

Since the formation of the YSR Congress government in Andhra Pradesh, the government has been at a crossroads with the former Intelligence Bureau chief AB Venkateswara Rao.

The government suspended him from his duties, which was later challenged by the senior IPS officer at the Central Administrative Tribunal(CAT).

The CAT recently mentioned that the suspension on ABV is against the regulations and lifted the suspension on him immediately, which came as big relief to the senior IPS officer. But the YCP government didn’t stop at that and again approached the High Court, appealing CAT’s assessment.

However, the High Court of Andhra Pradesh quickly shut down the attempt made by the YCP government by stating they can’t interfere with the operations and assessments of CAT.

The court discarded the case which meant the CAT’s decision to lift the suspension on ABV stands and he is bound to be reinstated soon.

While the YCP government has been trying to shut down ABV under the pretext that he is a TDP loyalist, the administrative board is saying such politically-motivated action by the government are against the rules.
