Administration and governance of Andhra Pradesh will be a tightrope walk for the next government. The state is already in a quagmire of debts of Rs 12 lakh crore. In addition, there are many free schemes that need to be implemented without fail.
The people have delivered their verdict regarding whom would they prefer to have at the helm of affairs. It is just that the results are to be announced on June 4.
In fact, the new government will have to swim against the tide. In addition to paying interest for the heavy debts taken by the authorities, it has to be seen that the state would not need more debts, which is almost an impossible task. Increasing debts means a rise in the interest too.
Political observers are of the opinion that it would be a little bit easy if the YCP clinches power again but if TDP alliance wrests power, then the increased pension amount, unemployment dole, free travel for women in RTC buses and many others would only lead to more trouble.
Significantly, the Centre will not fund any of the schemes announced by the TDP alliance and it may be recalled that the Centre itself is advising that freebies be reduced in all the states.
In addition, tomorrow, June 2 will mean the end of Hyderabad as a joint capital. The Andhra Pradesh government will have to resolve many issues relating to the Bifurcation Act.
The Centre had conveniently linked up all the troubles with Telangana and is just trying remain a mute spectator to the various kinds of disputes between both the Telugu states.
Unemployment and the need to generate more employment are other major problems likely to be faced by the TDP alliance, as the coalition had promised to do some good to the youth, if they come to power.
For both the ruling YCP and opposition parties, which formed the coalition, administration of the state is wrought with numerous hurdles and challenges.
