Immediately after the conclusion of the last phase of polling on Saturday, exit polls surveys made a splash all over in news channels across the country and political enthusiasts glued to their TVs and mobiles to find out the trend ahead of the much-anticipated results on June 4th. While all the surveys predicted a resounding mandate to the BJP at the centre, majority of them gave an edge to the NDA alliance in Andhra Pradesh as well.
Out of all leading parties, Pawan Kalyan led Janasena seems to the happiest one because of the impressive strike rate. The Janasena cadre is flying high with the exit poll surveys as they have clearly indicated that Pawan Kalyan is going to win Pithapuram constituency with a bumper majority. AARA Mastaan, a reliable psephologist, said that Pawan Kalyan will enter the assembly even though YSRCP is likely to form the government. This announcement brought a lot of cheer to Janasena supporters.
It is known fact that the Telugu Desam Party, the Janasena party and the BJP forged a pre-poll alliance to dethrone the YSRCP led by Jagan Mohan Reddy. Going by the exit polls, NDA alliance is likely to canter home with more than 110 seats in the assembly elections and secure more than 18 seats in the parliament elections. While the TDP contested in 144 seats, Janasena got the chance to field candidates in 21 seats and the BJP was given 10 seats in the total of 175 seats.
One common prediction in most of these surveys is that Janasena is likely to improve its tally from 1 seat in 2019 to more than 15 seats in 2024. Almost all surveys indicated that Janasena fared exceedingly well in all seats where it contested. Out of the 21 seats, Janasena is likely to secure more than 75 percent seats. Also, it is poised to win both MP seats with a strong majority.
If the original results match these predictions, there is no doubt in saying that Janasena is going to play an instrumental role in forming the government. Whatever may be the outcome, Janasena supporters will be happy if the party secure more than 15 MLAs including Pawan Kalyan’s seat and win both MPs in these elections.
