‘Axis My India ‘ Exit Polls : Good News for Alliance

Published by

While the supporters of NDA alliance parties have been flying high ever since majority of national surveys predicted a clear mandate in the assembly elections of Andhra Pradesh, they received another big boost in the form of ‘India Today – Axis My India’ exit poll which were announced just a while ago.

After giving a teaser on Saturday evening with Loksabha poll predictions in favour of NDA alliance in Andhra Pradesh, they have now revealed that the combine of TDP, JSP and BJP is going to form the government with the range of 98-120 seats out of the 175 assembly constituencies.

It stated that Pawan Kalyan is the game changer in Andhra Pradesh because his Janasena party ensured that the anti-incumbency votes didn’t split and Kapu community votes were polarised towards the alliance.

As per the analysis of Axis My India team, the Telugu Desam Party is likely to secure 42 % vote share while Jagan Mohan Reddy’s YSRCP will pull in 44%. Janasena has reportedly dominated the East Godavari and West Godavari district and managed to register 7% vote and the BJP contributed 2% share, taking the overall tally of NDA to 51 % which is likely to frustrate YSRCP’s ambitions. The Congress party is an insignificant player with only 2 % vote share.

Going into individual performances, TDP is likely to emerge victorious in 78-96 seats and the Janasena is likely to bag 16-18 seats and the BJP will win 4-6 seats. On the other side, the YSRCP might well fall short of expectations with 55-77 seats.

These predictions came in the backdrop of the Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim assembly elections results which were declared just a while ago. The Axis My India predictions that were revealed on Saturday evening matched close to the original results of both these states.
