Teachers Excluded From Counting Duties In Kurnool?

Published by

Teachers, who are traditionally linked with the election duties, were exempted from it in Kurnool district, leading to several doubts.

The people are wondering over why the teachers, who usually act as the POs and APOs, have been not entrusted with the job this time.

Teachers reminded that the government had utilized up to nearly 50 per cent of their services during the local body elections.

There is information that over 300 teachers were even given training in delivering duties the 2024 general elections. The teachers are also surprised over why they have been set aside in the last minute even while they had attended the training twice earlier.

The higher officials are tight-lipped over the questions being raised by the teachers. It is learnt that their services are not being utilized because they are under the purview of the management of the local bodies and hence, ineligible.

The teachers are questioning over why were they given training in the first place, if they are ineligible.

It is being said that teachers associated only with the government schools were entrusted with the counting duties and those working as SGTs under the ZP management and school assistants were excluded from the counting centres.
