TDP Undi candidate and former MP K. Raghu Ramakrishna Raju was declared victorious from the constituency after he secured a majority of 56,421 votes over his rival YCP candidate Penmetsa Venkatalakshmi Narasimha Raju.
RRR has turned a rebel in the YCP and continued lambasting YCP boss and former CM Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy since the beginning of the YCP rule in Andhra Pradesh. He developed a bonding with the Andhra Pradesh even while residing in New Delhi by addressing them through Rachabanda, a news analysis programme, almost on a daily basis. He made known to the public the ill intentions of the YCP government in the introduction and implementation of various welfare programmes and also how Jagan was avoiding his arrest by the CBI sleuths.
The Rachabanda programme is known for leaking inside information to the public of Andhra Pradesh. However, he had always exhibited his admiration for the TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu and finally, joined the party after the YCP scuttled his attempts in securing a ticket from the BJP.
