The election results are almost out and the NDA alliance registered a historic victory with more than 160 seats in Andhra Pradesh. While the rank and file of YSRCP are yet to come out of the shock given by the voters, their party supremo and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan reacted for the first time on the embarrassing defeat. Just a while ago, Jagan addressed a press conference in Tadepalli and expressed unhappiness over the humiliation faced in the assembly and parliament elections in the state.
In what was literally a teary and emotional outburst, Jagan accepted the choice of voters and said that he was under a huge shock seeing the unexpected results. Jagan said he was surprised about the electoral response meted out on his party despite rolling out several schemes in the last five years.
Jagan appeared clueless and said that he was unable to fathom the defeat. He expressed shock over not getting the support of 55 lakh women who were beneficiaries of Amma Vodi scheme and 63 lakh farmers who were credited with Rytu Bharosa scheme. He also was disappointed for being cold shouldered by various sectors like Auto pullers, toddy tappers, fisherman and Dwarka Women who were disbursed with government schemes in the last five years.
Jagan said his government fulfilled 99% of promises in the manifesto and also provided support to people in below poverty line. He said that YSRCP will always standby the poor and needy and will fight for their cause. He added that despite many efforts by the opposition parties, the vote share of YSRCP hasn’t declined below 40 percent.
Jagan congratulated the NDA alliance partners for the massive victory. Only takeaway from this election for him is that he won from the Pulivendula assembly segment with a thumping majority.
