Modi To Meet Prez On June 7; Naidu Returns

The first ever NDA meeting, to form the new government of Modi 3.0, took place on the evening of June 5th, a day after the 2024 poll results were declared in India. While BJP hasn’t got big numbers, with support from allies like TDP’s Chandrababu and JDU’s Nitish Kumar, surely they are going to form the government.

In Delhi, the NDA leaders unanimously elected Bharatiya Janata Party’s Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister candidate and their floor leader in the Parliament. After coming out of the meeting, once again Naidu reiterated that they were not going to leave the NDA. “We three parties have contested together and that itself says we are with NDA. Why do you speculate about it?” he shot back when media asked him about the developments.

But then, as speculated, Narendra Modi is not going to meet the President today as Chandrababu and Nitish and other NDA allies have kept some portfolio demands in front of them. After getting a clear picture on this tomorrow, Modi will be meeting the president on June 7th. Before meeting the President, there will be a meeting of all the NDA MPs as well in Delhi, for which Naidu’s 16 MPs and Pawan Kalyan’s 2 MPs from Andhra Pradesh will attend. Meanwhile, before this meet, Modi will once again meet Naidu to assure him of the portfolios, promises and others.

Meanwhile, Congress-led INDIA also met with all its allies on June 5th evening and discussed for an hour. If at all Congress-led INDIA wants to come into power, they need to cobble nearly 40+ MP seats, and that’s not a possible scenario with the likes of TDP and JDU out there supporting the NDA. However, any move INDIA makes now will look like a power-grabbing act, and we have to see what happens tomorrow.

After wrapping his Delhi meeting on Wednesday, Naidu started back to Mangalagiri and might discuss things with his party folks as well, before discussing with BJP top brass. A national channel reported that Naidu met BJP leaders like Amit Shah and Piyush Goyal for 10 minutes privately on the sidelines of NDA meeting, probably to discuss about the portfolios.
