Comic Relief: KA Paul laments about losing Family Votes

Maverick preacher and Praja Shanthi party president KA Paul, who often draws attention during elections season with his tall claims and exaggerated statements, once again hogged the limelight with his allegations on the day of counting when everyone was busy following the trend of results. He indeed provided the much needed comic relief with his statements when he spoke with the media at the counting centre.

It is a known fact that Paul contested for Vizag MP this time and secured a meagre 7000 votes. Alleging that EVMs were tampered and elections were rigged to defeat him, Paul lamented that votes of his family members were also not counted in his favour. Paul said he didn’t receive a single vote in many booths and in polling booth number 235 in Murali Nagar, where 22 his family members had their votes, he got only 4 votes.

He questioned how that was possible, when the polling officials had informed him that he was leading during the counting of votes. Paul said it was a conspiracy in the way lakhs of votes meant for him were prevented from getting polled in his favour. He asked the people to imagine the plight of the state.

He also recalled that it was he, who had made TDP chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu the chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh in 1995.

A few weeks ago after the polling was completed, KA Paul himself announced as the MP of Vishakapatnam. He said his party did an internal assessment and came to a conclusion that he will win Vizag MP by securing more than 10 lakh votes. Four lakh Christian votes, two lakh votes from youth, two lakh votes from the workers and their families at the vizag Steel Plant, and two lakh votes from SCs, STs, and BCs are among them, he claimed.
