Nara Lokesh has proven himself as a worthy next-gen leader of TDP. He didn’t just win the Mangalagiri assembly constituency by a huge margin but he also energized the TDP cadres and booth-level workers over the last four years, which created an undercurrent that YS Jagan couldn’t identify.
Now that Kutami’s win is sealed in Andhra Pradesh, Lokesh sat down for an interview with a national media outlet and he was asked about his stance on the NDA alliance. Lokesh was very calculated with his response as he showed aggression and maturity in equal proportion.
‘The Telugu Desam Party extends unconditional support to the NDA government at the center. But in exchange, we need a surplus stream of development initiatives from the center. The TDP will anyway work on making AP the electronics manufacturing hub of South India as we have plans to bring reformative changes in the manufacturing sector. We want the NDA government at the center to facilitate the process through logistical amenities’
Lokesh extended unanimous support to the NDA alliance at the center level and at the same time, he asked for support from the center for the development of the state. He made it clear that TDP puts AP’s interests above the party lines. This must be honored by the NDA-led government which is evidently dependent on the TDP camp to uphold its power in the parliament.
