Narendra Modi is returning as Prime Minister of India today for the third time, and his followers call it a Modi 3.O. Modi successfully entered into an alliance with other political parties to bring the NDA to power. Modi will reportedly take the oath, and 30 MPs will also take the oath as ministers.
According to reports, the full council of ministers is expected to have a strength of between 78 and 81. The official time of the swearing-in ceremony is 7.15 to 8 p.m. Already, high-profile politicians and Prime Ministers of other countries have been reaching the venue. All those ministers who will be taking the oath received calls this morning that they have to leave for Delhi immediately.
Since the BJP fell short of the majority to form the government, Modi is dependent on other parties this time. Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party and Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal-United are pressing for more than one ministerial berth.
From Andhra Pradesh, it is almost confirmed that Ram Mohan Naidu and Pemmasani will be included in the cabinet. One will be the minister, and the other will be the minister for State. On the other hand, we can expect at least two cabinet berths for the MPs from Telangana.
After Jawaharlal Nehru, Modi created history as the second person to be Prime Minister for three successive terms.
Sri Lanka President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Mauritius PM Pravind Kumar Jugnauth, Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Bhutan PM Tshering Tobgay and Seychelles Vice-President Ahmed Afif are expected to grace the occasion.
The chief ministers of all the state along with the opposition leaders have been invited for the swearing-in ceremony.
