Two-time MP from Vijayawada Kesineni Nani made a failed move from TDP to YSR Congress right before this year’s elections. He confidently said Jagan would retain power in the state and vowed to end TDP in Krishna district.
But the sad reality for Nani is that TDP stormed to power and swept the entire Krishna district. Nani himself ended up losing Vijaywada by a massive margin to his own brother Kesineni Chinni who contested on TDP ticket.
In the aftermath of this mass wave created by TDP, Nani has announced that he is retiring from politics.
After careful consideration and reflection I have decided to step away from politics and conclude my political journey. Serving the people of Vijayawada as a Member of Parliament for two terms has been an incredible honor.
Although I am stepping away from the political arena, my commitment to Vijayawada remains strong. I will continue to support and advocate for the betterment of Vijayawada in any way I can, Nani tweeted a few minutes ago as he announced his retirement from politics.
Earlier, Nani won as an MP from Vijayawada twice on TDP ticket. His last political move was to switch from TDP to YCP which ended catastrophically and as a result, he has quit politics. For whatever reasons, Nani is a respected MP despite his last-minute theatrics for YCP.
