‘Jagan dangerous for the health of democracy’

Published by

YSR Congress chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has lost immunity after losing the election in Andhra Pradesh. Jagan is no longer the CM of AP, and hence, he will have to attend the CBI court hearing on his disproportionate assets cases, which he had been skipping for the last 5 years, citing CM duties.

On this topic, former interim director of CBI, M Nageshwara Rao has called for a speedy trial on Jagan. He tweeted that Jagan destroyed bureaucracy and he must be dealt with appropriately.

“Jagan’s mindset is that of warlords, not of politicians in a democracy. He considers his political opponents as enemies which is extremely dangerous for the health of democracy and the well-being of the people.”

“Therefore, he has to be dealt appropriately as per law by ensuring speedy trial of all the 29 criminal cases pending against him, especially 11 CBI cases and 9 ED cases, as mentioned in his affidavit filed for election 2024, whose trial he has been able to delay for more than a decade.”

The former CBI director added, to suit his criminal enterprise Jagan has destroyed institutions of governance, chain of command in the bureaucracy and police, the rule of law, systems and procedures of governance, etc. This has to be quickly repaired by placing honest and competent officers with a clear mandate.

The fact that the former commander in chief of the CBI has called for a speedy trial on Jagan’s cases is turning into a hot topic. If the CBI takes such an earnest stance against Jagan, then he could be in trouble with all the cases that are currently lodged against him at the CBI court.
