Satyakumar Yadav is the luckiest among the BJP leaders in Andhra Pradesh. He won the Dharmavaram MLA seat in Anantapur district contesting on a BJP ticket against his rival Kethireddy Venkatram Reddy, securing a thin majority of 3,734 votes.
Now, he has also been inducted into Naidu’s cabinet. In a significant manner, Yadav was picked for the ministerial berth among the eight BJP MLAs.
The other MLAs who won the polls on a BJP ticket included former minister Adinarayana Reddy from Jammalamadugu, Sujana Chowdary from Vijayawada, Penmatsa Vishnukumar Raju from Visakha North, Parthasarathy from Adoni, Eswara Rao from Etcherla, Kaminnei Srinivas from Kaikaloor, Nallamilli Ramakrishna Reddy from Anaparthi.
Satya alias Satya Kumar is well-known in the BJP political circle in New Delhi. Satya Kumar’s ancestors migrated from Maharashtra and settled in Hindupur. He worked as the personal secretary of former President Venkaiah Naidu for a long time.
After Venkaiah Naidu quit active politics, Satya Kumar Yadav made his political entry. Being an ABVP leader since his student days and having known Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Hindi and English, he could maintain cordial relations with the leaders of various states.
Satya is a trusted lieutenant of Venkaiah Naidu when he worked as the BJP national president, in the Vajyapayee’s government and also during the UPA rule. Venkaiah Naidu even ensured that Satya Kumar Yadav married one of his close relatives to continue the bonding with him.
In March 2022, during the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, Yadav held the responsibility of 135 seats in the total 403-seat Assembly. The NDA coalition won 284 seats in this election. The BJP won 252 while its allies won 32 seats.
Having strong connections with the political leaders and the stalwarts in the BJP helped Yadav ascend to the minister position.
