100 crs for ‘Aadudam Andhra’ Roja under CID scanner

Former MLA and YSRCP leader Roja Selvamani, who served as a tourism minister in YS Jagan’s government and lost in Nagari by a margin of 45,000 votes this time, has been subjected to intense criticism by the supporters of both TDP and Janasena ever from the past few days after the election results. This is because of her critical remarks on Pawan Kalyan and Chandra Babu Naidu while the YSRCP was in power. 

Now that the new government has formed and the irregularities committed by the previous government are likely to be unearthed one by one. Meanwhile, Roja is likely to come under CID scanner for reportedly siphoning off 100 Crores in the name of sports events like ‘Aadudam Andhra’ and ‘CM Cup’. As tourism minister, Roja led this events initiated by the previous government. 

As per latest reports, a complaint on Roja and former SAAP chairman Byreddy Siddharth Reddy for committing irregularities in the name of sports has been lodged with the CID by Aatya Patya association CEO RD Prasad. In the complaint, he demanded a detailed investigation into the usage of funds, allotment of education seats on sports quota and enquiry of all officers who worked under this bodies by the CID. The complainants have asked the CID authorities to seize the relevant records and conduct a thorough investigation. 

Roja has already been facing several allegations for collecting money over the sale of TTD tickets allotted to minister’s quota when she was at the helm of affairs of the tourism ministry in the state. It is a known fact that she used to visit Tirumala very often with many of her followers. The opposition parties criticised her for earning money in the name of special darshan tickets.
