TDP veteran Chandrababu Naidu is widely regarded as a man who pays utmost respect to his associates and fellow partymen. This can be understood if we look at the way he paid top respect to Pawan Kalyan while formulating the new cabinet of Andhra Pradesh.
While it is a common tradition for a CM to have two or more deputy chief ministers, Chandrababu set this aside and held the post to one solitary individual i.e., Pawan Kalyan. He didn’t let the sanctity of the post get diluted by announcing multiple individuals as deputy CMs and instead reserved it solely for Pawan Kalyan.
Earlier, in the Jagan government, staggeringly, there were nine people who varyingly served as deputy CMs namely Pilli Subhash Chandrabose, Pushpa Sreevani, Alla Nani, Amzath Pasha, K Narayana Swamy, Dharmana Krishna Das, Budi Mutyala Naidu, Kottu Satyanarayana, Rajanna Dora. It was clear that Jagan went for obligations and named as many deputy CMs.
But Chandrababu is very firm on this and gave the post solely to Pawan. Earlier in 2014, Naidu too gave the deputy CM post to Nimmakayala Chinarajappa, and KE Krishna Murthy. But this time, the post is reserved for only one man and that is Pawan. Apart from being the deputy CM, Pawan also has Panchayati Raj, Rural Development & Rural Water Supply, Science & Technology, Environment & Forest Department.
