The outgoing YSR Congress government was largely scrutinized for the lack of investments over the last 5 years. On top of the lack of investments, there were complaints that the YCP government created so many hurdles that potential suitors like Amar Raja, Lulu, and others had to leave the state.
But with the onset of the new TDP-led government in Andhra Pradesh, things have started to change quickly. The new government is already actively seeking investments and has even sent out an invite to the owner of X(Twitter) and Tesla, Elon Musk.
Musk is scheduled to visit India later this year and is likely to prepare the route-map for multiple investments related to his e-car manufacturing company, Tesla. In this context, he was invited to visit AP and explore he opportunities here by the new Minister of Industries, TG Bharat.
Bharat tagged Musk and wrote I understand you plan to visit India and are considering significant investments here. I urge you to consider Andhra Pradesh for your ventures, as our dynamic and visionary leader Chandrababu Garu has returned as Chief Minister. The Hyderabad you have heard about or seen is a testament to his vision and leadership.
Bharat added that the AP government will do everything in its power to facilitate Musk’s investment plans. He even hinted on the plan to approach Musk through industry leaders who are already in touch with Musk so as to persuade him to visit the state and explore the opportunities.
This is the kind of proactive approach that the AP government had been missing in the recent years and the culture is returning rather quickly now. If the new government can actually bring Musk to AP and attract investment, then the AP people will get to see the difference in approach of the previous YCP government and the current new government. This will be the game changer for the alliance.
