Rushikonda Palace Outrightly Rejected By Locals?

Published by

Almost every discussion in the political circles in AP is revolving around the palatial Rushikonda Palace that was commissioned by ex CM Jagan Mohan Reddy. The primary discussion is about the misuse of public funds to fund this super-costly Rs 500+ crore building.

As it turns out, the locals, particularly Rushikonda-surrounding voters have outrightly rejected the construction of this palace in the area.

If we look at the polling trends in Rushikonda which falls under the Bheemili assembly constituency, it can be understood that the locals were outrightly against Jagan’s construction.

Rushikonda reportedly falls under the 8th ward in Bheemili and this ward alone gave 7,200 majority to TDP’s Ganta Srinivas Rao which is a huge number if we look at it individually.

In total, Ganta won Bheemili by 92,000 votes majority which is an all-time record in this constituency. The very same Ganta won Bheemili in 2014 by 37,000 votes majority and the number got nearly tripled this time. So, there must have been something seriously influencing the voters to pick TDP and this could have well been the Rushikonda Palace, remarked a political observer.
