After facing the wrath of the voters in the recent assembly elections, YSR Congress party leaders are having a tough time ever since the new government assumed charged in Andhra Pradesh. While YS Jagan Mohan Reddy himself landed in a huge controversy over the alleged squandering of government coffers to build a luxurious palace in Rushikonda, many of his former MLAs and Ministers are also facing the ire of people for their bad actions when the YSRCP was in power.
Former Gudivada MLA and minister for Civil Supplies, who is one of the firebrand leaders in YSRCP, is the latest to face the consequences for the party’s hasty decision just before the elections.
It is well known fact many of the YSRCP MLA contestants came up with an ill-advised plan when the election commission debarred volunteers from taking part in campaigning.
They forced the volunteers under their jurisdiction to resign immediately and take part in the election campaign with a plan to reinstate them if the YSRCP retains power after the elections.
With the TDP coming back to power, the fate of such volunteers now hangs in balance. So, many of them have been approaching the local police stations to lodge a complaint on those MLAs who forced them to resign with a malafide intention.
Now, a case has been booked on Kodali Nani as well. As per latest reports, a group of volunteers belonging to Gudivada constituency complained in the local police station that they were forced to resign from their posts to campaign for YSRCP.
Acting on their complaint, the police booked Nani under IPC sections 447 and 506. Besides Nani, other YSRCP leaders like Dukkipati Sashibhusan, Gorle Srinu and few others have also booked in this case.
It is a known fact that the NDA alliance promised 10,000 salary for each volunteer after coming to power. So, all those who resigned at the behest of YSRCP leaders are now approaching the current MLAs to retain them back into their jobs immediately. So far, the government hasn’t reacted on this issue.
