Two Big Challenges Ahead For Chandrababu

TDP president and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has carved a task for himself — acquiring the nation’s highest civilian award Bharat Ratna for two important persons who played a key role in the growth of his career and strengthening the party.

One of them is TDP founder and Naidu’s father-in-law late N.T. Rama Rao and the other is Eenadu Group chairman Ch. Ramoji Rao, who indirectly helped the TDP in clinching power and also stood by him during crisis period.

Naidu urged the party MPs to put in their efforts too in securing the prestigious awards for the two important persons. He also promised that the party would help them in this endeavor.

Recently, the state government held Ramoji Rao memorial meet on the outskirts of Vijayawada during which Naidu proposed that it is the responsibility of the party cadre to ensure that Ramoji Rao is also conferred with Bharat Ratna.

As per the tradition, Padma awards are declared in August every year. The highest civilian award Bharat Ratna is also announced at the same time, before the others.

This means the TDP cadre has just one month to chalk out the action plan to achieve this task.

It has to be seen how far would Naidu would be able to wield his influence over the Centre.

However, it should be remembered that there is no tradition to announce two Bharat Ratnas for the same state but as Naidu is part of the ruling NDA government at the Centre, possibilities cannot be ruled out.

It has to be seen how far the TDP boss and his MPs would be successful in accomplishing the task.
