Chandrababu Naidu, in his fourth tenure as the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh proactively orchestrated the pension distribution campaign. He physically took part in the pension distribution program today and handed over the money to beneficiaries.
Standing by his word prior to the election, Chandrababu active took up the pension program. Despite the troublesome fiscal situation of AP and the additional load of Rs 850+ crore that the pension program is bringing, Naidu made it happen with his expertise.
This brings us to the question, will the BJP take credit for the well-implemented pension program?
Firstly, BJP wasn’t very supportive of the TDP manifesto right from the outset. The saffron party consciously stood away from the TDP manifesto. In fact a central BJP leader who partook in the manifesto announcement didn’t even prefer to hold the manifesto by hand, alongside Chandrababu and Pawan Kalyan prior to the election.
Today, one of the most important promises in the TDP-JSP manifesto, the pensions program came to implementation. Chandrababu stood by his word and delivered Rs 7000 pension which is the highest ever conventional pension amount in AP.
At this rate, Naidu must readily make the Rs 4000/month pension happen from the coming month. Pawan Kalyan himself has commented that this massive scale of pension disbursement is happening solely due to Chandrababu’s experience and expertise.
Earlier, the BJP completely deserted the manifesto and tried to belittle Chandrababu. But the very same Chandrababu made it all happen and hand-delivered the pension today, that too without any support in terms of funds from the center, so it shall be seen if the BJP will not claim a part of the credit for this mass outreach program.
