Those who scolded Babu getting significant posts?

During 2019-2024, all those YSRCP leaders who used to abuse and defame the then opposition leader and TDP president Chandra Babu Naidu during media interactions and assembly sessions got significant positions in the government. Some leaders like Roja, Kodali Nani, Ambati Ram Babu, Jogi Ramesh etc. who resorted to character assassination on Naidu and enjoyed privileges in Jagan’s cabinet are the prime examples for this bad tradition.

As Chandra Babu Naidu returned to power and assumed charge as Chief Minister of the state, the TDP cadre believes that those who personally targeted him won’t be spared in the next five years. Moreover, they are also hoping that those leaders who attacked Naidu won’t get any significance in the party this time even if they defect from other parties.

But, Naidu seems to have got soft corner on those who criticized him in the past. Kolusu Parthasarti, who jumped ship from YSRCP to TDP before the elections, was rewarded with a cabinet berth in the current regime, ignoring the fact that he frequently made critical comments on Naidu from 2014 to 2024. Earlier, he was with the Congress when he targeted Babu several times over his policies. He is currently serving as the minister of Housing and IPR in Naidu’s cabinet.

Now, another leader who was affiliated to several parties before joining the TDP is also in race for a significant post. As per reports, veteran politician C. Rama Chandraiah, who defected from TDP to PRP and later joined Congress and then shifted to YSRCP before returning to TDP fold again, is the forerunner for one of the two MLC posts under MLA category. Rama Chandraiah has always been a critic of Naidu’s governance and policies irrespective of whichever party he served after resigning from TDP.

Going by these two instances, it appears like those who scolded Babu in the past and have a habit of jumping parties are getting significant positions in the new government. Hard core TDP well-wishers feels that Naidu’s prime focus should be on leaders who fought against YSRCP in opposition and the leaders who sacrificed their strong hold seats to Janasena and BJP.
